My wife and I are currently waiting to see if we will be chosen by a birth mother for a baby due in May.  The birth mother is currently using methadone to treat her heroin addiction so we anticipate a withdrawel when the baby is born.

We will be honored to have this baby as our own, if chosen, and we are not at all hesitant about the baby's possible health concerns.

But I would like to be as prepared as possible in order to provide him or her the best possible care as well as be ready to meet any anticipated needs that are likely to come up.  So any advice is welcome!  Thankfully we will both have a lot of flexibility during the first four months to be home and with the baby.
