I'm 6 wks and 2 days pregnant with my 2nd Baby. I am a stay at home mom with a 5 1/2 month old. I had morning sickness with our first from 6 wks till the morning of her birth. I've started with morning sickness again at 6 wks with this baby. I have meds from my OB already and they help a little. With my first one I could lay in bed and eat a little before I got up and moving for the day but I can't do that now with a 5 1/2 month old. So I was wondering what are you guys eating in the morning to help with the morning sickness?

I try to nibble a couple of saltine crackers as soon as I wake up to take the edge off, then have a scrambled egg or a small bowl of oatmeal when I have time (Like Leah, I try to eat within an hour of waking). Ginger ale is wonderful for nausea!

My obgyn told me to keep crackers and ginger ale by my bedside and nibble on that before I get up in the morning. I still get a little nauseated after eating breakfast but no vomitting if I lay on my side for a little while after eating it helps keep me from throwing up.

I'm not terribly sick with this pregnancy, but with my others I avoided milk products and that seemed to help - they're just too heavy for a sensitive morning-sickness-stomache. I'm not sure if milk is bothering me or not; I'm kind of avoiding it. I don't feel bad in the morning, but the early afternoon/evening I don't feel well - I think I need to snack a little earlier so my stomache doesn't get empty. I feel like I'm also really sensitive to smells, so making dinner seems to make me queasy. I like dry cereal for breakfast - frosted mini-wheats have tons of vitamins - with some fruit juice or other vitamin c food. Dry cereal was great 'round the clock with my other pregnancies, too.

Thanks so much. It's been a hard few days but I go online and did research again (nothing worked for my 1st pregnancy except chicken nuggets). I found these wrist bands called Sea Bands and they're working pretty well and I finally broke down and got some preggie pops from Babies R Us (I hadn't tried them b/c I'm a picky eater and not open new flavors). So it's looking a little better.

My midwife gave me phenergan cream that you rub on the insides of your wrist and it works pretty good. Also there are no side effects like the pill has.....extreme drowsiness.
