Are there any other moms or mom-to-be's on here with birth/due dates on christmas?? And how often are due dates actually correct? I always wanted to have a holiday baby, like Valentines Day or Easter, something cute haha, but my doctors and nurses tell me Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and that my little bouncer is growing and developing to those dates. I'm excited regardless, I can't wait but at the same time Christmas sounds like a terrible birthday for a kid. Can i get advice from anyone??

Hi Jes, I think like only 5% of women give birth on their due date. My first two were early, in my 38th and 39th week. My sister went two weeks past her due date! When baby wants to come, he/she will come:) I had my daughter two days after 4th of July and my son was two days after Labor day. Never had them on the holiday, almost though;)lol. Think I'm gonna have this one two days after thanksgiving. My other sister always gives birth on a holiday! ALWAYS!!! Memorial day for my nice, April fools for my nephew, Halloween for my 3rd nephew, and Christmas day for my second nephew! (Christmas baby passed away, so she is kinna anti-Christmas now) Personally, yes having Christmas or around Christmas for a birthday sucks! Everyone is so caught up on the holiday, your birthday isn't as special as it should be. Plus people tend to combine presents!!!! My eldest sister does that, it drives me crazy!!!! Her daughter is born on December 23rd. I notice she gets the same amount of gifts as my kids for Christmas. Well, less then my kids (i go way over board with Christmas and so does my in-laws!) My mom and I are the only ones that make it two separate occasions and gets presents for each (NO COMBINING!) Also, one of my childhood friend's birthday was on Christmas and she hated it. It was never just her day!

A friend of mine was born on December 22nd. She said that here gifts were always combined. Personally, I think they should be totally seperate celebrations. Same as it would be if it were a June Birthday. Just my opinion!

My mom is a Christmas baby (namd Merry) and God help us if we don't recognize the heck out of her birth that day! Just popped her half birthday card in mail...yes, HALF birthday card. It's like that. Be sure to make a Christmas birthday baby feel special that day or their kids will suffer lifetime of making up for what their grandparents didn't adequately celebrate! lol

I am due Dec 24 and my main concern is that the baby has a seperate day than Christmas. I just don't want it all to be bundled into one day. Is that selfish?

Im also due on the 24th... and i have the same fears as you. My sisters birthday is the 10th of December and my mom always made her birthday a seprate thing by waiting on putting up the tree untill after her birthday but thats something that I just cant do because christmas is too close. My only thing that i came up with is to tell family member to wrap birthday presents in birthday paper and christmas in christmas paper and we can try and separate it that way. Let me know if you have any ideas too!

I dont want that confusion for them.. I want them to both feel equally loved by everyone
