Are you planning a family vacation this year? I am planning two and I can hardly wait. It gives us all something to look forward to as a family. I try and hang pictures of where we are going around the house and talk about it once in a while at dinner time to get everyone excited about it.

We are going to the U.P. in Michigan to visit some of dh's relatives he hasn't seen in close to 20 years. Needless to say, I have never met them. This will be our first official family vacation. I'm a little worried about the long hours in the car with the little ones but I'm also really excited.

Do you know where exactly you are going? I have spent some time in Michigan because my husband has some family there. Traverse City is beautiful!

We're going to Channing which is close to Marquette and Iron Mountain. I have been to Houghton before on business but didn't have the opportunity to check out any sights. I'm looking forward to their mild weather in July!!

Tiffany- Here's a little info about a walking tour of historic homes in Marquette. Might be a good way to pop kids in a stroller and enjoy the great weather:
Stop by the Marquette County Historical Museum for a map ($2), then take a stroll down Ridge Street, just a block from Lakeshore Boulevard near the Maritime Marine Museum. Most of the lovely homes on this street, along with those on nearby Arch Street, were built in the late 19th century during Marquette's boom-town years. They housed affluent families--railroad officials, merchants, businessmen and mining magnateswho played a big role in developing Marquette and the Upper Peninsula. You can do the tour in about 45 minutes; take your time and enjoy the beauty and historical significance of the area.

We are going to FL next week. We leave this Saturday! I'm so excited. I hope everything goes well. It's about an 8 hour drive and we will have 7 adults and an almost 11-month old.

We are headed to boston for a few days and then to New Hampshire. Every year we try and make it to N.H. and spend time on the lake that my mom grew up on.

We are going from Kansas to Texas. I am thinking of flying (alone with 3 kids) rather than brave 2 days in the car. Does this sound crazy to anyone? My DH thinks I'm nuts.
