My name is Chris LaValle and I have an 8 year old son. I wanted to let you know about a new petition I created on We the People, a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support. Will you add your name to mine? If this petition gets 25,000 signatures by January 15, 2013, the White House will review it and respond! We the People allows anyone to create and sign petitions asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of issues. If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response. You can view and sign the petition here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/put-stop-excessive-violence-our-childrens-video-games/xVknm9BN Here's some more information about this petition: Put A Stop to Excessive Violence in our Children's Video Games Every day, children are subjected to extreme violence, and one area of real concern is in the video games they play, in some cases for hours upon hours every day. They are shown how to become an assailant and begin to associate killing with pleasure and entertainment. In some cases it becomes an addiction, in others children are desensitized, and killing becomes second nature. This glorification of murder as activity for our nations youth has got to stop. Please sign this petition, to hopefully set new guidelines and rules regarding violence in our children's games. If something is illegal, immoral in real life, it can not be taught, celebrated and encouraged in our children's video games.
