Symptoms

Yeah I love all the activity.

A lot of my joint pain and cramping has gone away. I still get it every once in awhile. I tend to only get nausea when I'm hungry so I try to keep food in my stomach and that helps. I'm starting to get some energy back, but do notice when I do to much.

Since this is my second I'm way more laid back this time around. Unless I sit there and start thinking about the what ifs. So I try and not do that.

I knew I had an easy pregnancy with my son but I'm starting to realize how easy. I have all theses symptoms that I did not get until my third trimester last time. But I'm already feeling it. I'm a little worried what this third trimester is going to be rough. My bladder has already decreased in size or at least that's how it feels. I have to get up at least once in the night and then I'm stuck awake for at least an hour which then I find myself hungry and have to eat. My back is already killing me. But it's all worth it, right?

Meredith What an awesome resource you have in your mom. My mom and sister have always been real handy when I have questions as well.

Katie it sounds like you have a lot of the same symptoms as me especially the nausea when hungry and aversions to food I used to love.

Amber I can't imagine having diabetes while I was pg that's my biggest fear is to get gd. Diabetes runs strong in my family.

I am so paranoid too! Every little thing stresses me out. Cramp here, hot flashes there. I even questioned my husband when I was cutting the grass on the lawnmower, "Will this shake the baby?" I kinda laugh now but since this is my first pregnancy, I dont know the answers. I have a huge list for my OB when we go in next week. So far so good, although all night last night and this morning I think I am experiencing morning sickness for the firs time. It woke me up throughout the night, I was almost thankful when the alarm went off but then I got up and it was worse. Taking a shower didnt even help. Trying to eat a little now. Poor high school students that have to deal with me today.

Can morning sickness last all day? I have been absolutely miserable ALL DAY! I just want to go home and curl up in my bed. I've eaten some today, all small snacks but I forced myself to do it. Nothing is helping.

Katie, the name morning sickness is a joke! It can happen anytime of the day and can last all day. My best piece of advice is to eat a few saltines before you even get out of bed in the morning, give yourself an extra 15-30 minutes in the morning to just lay in bed and get something on your stomach.

I have been so paranoid the last few days, my symptoms come and go like I was having cramping in my lower abdomen on my left side, which my previously pregnant friends tell me that is totally normal and its just my ligaments pulling and streching. Then today I havent really had any cramping, just peeing a lot and really tender bb's just on the sides though. I really didnt feel too nauseous today which is a good thing, I am only five weeks so im sure there will be many days of nausea in my furture. I just keep worrying that something is wrong, im so fearful of a miscarriage because my mom had one before she had me, my best friend has had two, and a lot of people I know have had one also. It is my biggest fear, I just want a healthy baby!

Amber: everything you mentioned sounds perfectly normal. Ligament stretching is so painful and can be gone an hour later.

Katie: yes morning sickness can last 24/7 and your whole pregnancy. Just like amber said saltine crackers before you even sit up can help. I've heard a lot of people suggest bananas because of the b6 it helps with nausea. Potatoes and ginger are also a good food for nausea for some. They also have prego pops that some swear by that help, you can get them at maternity clothe stores or online. I've been wearing sea bands or motion sickness bands and those have been working for me. I hope you find something that works for you.

Haley I forgot about the sea bands! I've been wearing them too! I wore them as a kid for car sickness.

I just want to say that I was 100% miserable all day yesterday, from the time I woke up until like 1230 in the morning. I came home from work and laid in bed the rest of the night. My husband made me chicken noodle soup and for some weird reason I wanted cottage cheese.

I never puked but had horrible nausea. I hope these days come few and far between. I feel like a new woman today. I am going out tonight to get goldfish crackers to stash in my desk at school so I can grab when I need them.

When is your next dr. appt? I am going twice next week, once to my regular OB. He said we would hear the heartbeat. I am also going next Friday to get an ultrasound. I  had some bleeding during weeks 5-6 that worried the doctor so I had to go in and get blood drawn to check HcG levels? He said my levels significantly increased  between the two blood draws (had to take two half days at work to get blood drawn because of the crazy appt times). He scheduled an ultrasound just to check things out, but he said everything looks ok. I am excited to get a picture of the raspberry growing inside me!

Katie: hopefully you do have sprat if nausea and its not every day. That's a good sign that it will be short lived and not throughout your whole pregnancy.

Im still waiting for my first appointment in 2 weeks. I technically have two that day one with the nurse and then the dr with an ultrasound. I'm really hoping they will do an abdominal u/s rather then the internal vaginal u/s. I have a tilted uterus so it was extremely uncomfortable last time. I'm pretty sure she will send me for a blood draw afterward just like she did last time.

Amber: do the sea bands help you?

I'm really getting tired of the stuffy nose as well as constant runny nose. I know they are normal symptoms of being pg. I just hope it goes away soon it's really annoying.
