Haley the sea bands do help me! They are great since you basically put them on and forget them. I have such a stuffy nose too, glad to know im not the only one! And the preggie pops arent bad, the lemon ones taste like pledge to me but the other flavors arent awful!

Well, so far I haven't really had any nausea, and I'm about 8 weeks now (knock on wood). The biggest symptom has been the fatigue, and I'm just starting to accept the fact that I need 2 - 3 hours more sleep than before. I'm also feeling a little greasy - getting acne and having to wash my hair everyday. It's like being a teenager again :/

The one symptom that has surprised me, and that I had no warning about was that I am suddenly a really light sleeper. I used to be able to sleep through anything (I literally slept through a fire alarm once). Now I wake up at the slightest sound, and I'm wide awake and alert. Has anyone else gone through this change?

Yes I was always a sound sleeper until I was pg with my son and now I wake up at the slightest sound and can't go back to sleep for awhile. I think (my opinion, nothing to back it) it may be your body starting to prepare for a newborn and to wake up to its needs.

I've read and also experienced at the end of pregnancy some earlier will wake up the same time every night for two hours or more. And then when baby comes that's about the time baby wakes up and needs taken care of. It's also a way for your body to start preparing for the lack of sleep. It must have worked for me because I need a good 8-10 hours of sleep but when I had my son I still functioned rather well after only 2 hrs of sleep.

I agree with the sleeping. I used to sleep through the night, no problem. Since about the 5th week of pregnancy, I get up at least once during the night to use the restroom and it usually takes a while for me to get to sleep. There are times I will just wake up on and off and by the time my alarm goes off, I don't feel like I've slept at all. This past weekend, we woke up and got breakfast and I came home and fell asleep on the couch for 3-4 hours! I LOVE to sleep. Guess I need to get used to not sleeping!

It makes sense that sleeping much lighter is a way of prepping for the new baby. My mom always told me I would never sleep as soundly after having a child, I just had no idea that it would start so soon! It sure doesn't help with the fatigue, but I guess it's reassuring that my body's putting me in training already.

That's pretty interesting about waking up for a few hours at the same time every night towards the end of the pregnancy. It makes a lot of sense, but again, it would have taken me completely by surprise. Thanks for the heads up Peanut!

Yeah I was so mad when I was pg with my son and was awake every night from 4am-6am the last two months of pregnancy. I was so tired and just wanted to sleep. And then I started reading on the boards where others were doing the same thing and  then that's when I saw it in some book that claimed it was the body's way to prepare. It is nice to know what may be coming or that your not the only thing going through something. These boards were a save and grace when pregnant Last time and glad were getting some more activity in the July boards.

Anyone have bleeding at 9 weeks. Nothing major. Only when I wipe. No serious cramping, just the usual. Doctor doesnt seem worried but it freaks me out! I read on another blog that at 9 weeks the baby does start to move a bit, not that I could feel it, but that it could move things around. Anyone had similar issues?

No I've never spotted. But I have heard its pretty normal. As long as you have talked to your dr and it doesn't get any worse I'm sure everything is ok. When is your next drs appointment?

Hi Katie,

I spotted with one of my pregnancies around the same time. It started around 9 weeks, I had an ultrasound because I insisted and the doctor thought it would be easier than putting up with me nagging him :) everything looked fine. It happened again later in the pregnancy around 5 months. That was a different story, the doctor did an ultrasound right away. The placenta was tearing away from the uterus. and I was put on bed rest for a while.

My point is that the doctor will let you know when to be concerned and when not to be.

I know how easy it is to get freaked out at the sight of blood when you are so excited about this little person growing inside you, but try not to:)

Take good care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

Thanks Haley and Tammy. You both made me feel so much better. It is so hard not to freak out at the smallest amount of blood. I bled after my first pelvic exam so he said the smallest things might get the same reaction. He didnt seem worried. I alway jump to worst case scenarios while my husbad is the eternal optimist, or at least he is trying to be that way now. He really helps me not to panic. I don't know what I'd do without him! I go to the doctor tomorrow and he said we should be able to hear the heartbeat.

How early did you hear your  baby's heartbeat?
