Hey ladies. The winter cold as hit me BAD. I went to a Walgreens Take Care clinic and they said I had no infection so they didnt prescribe any antibiotics. My OB said I could take Robitussin for the cough and I've been taking Tylenol for headaches. Any other remedies that are safe for me and the baby?

Peanut, how did your appt go? Amber, I havent had much morning sickness and I've not vomited yet.... crossing my fingers I don't. The fact that you arent having any is probably fine. If you are worried, call your OB. Someone is on calll 24/7 and should return your call in less than an hour!

Katie, try miso soup (with shitake mushroomsif you can). For some reason it always makes me get better much faster! Hope you feel better soon, colds are no fun :( Don't forget to take it easy and get lots of rest too! Amber, I haven't had any morning sickness at all. From what I've read, not everyone gets it, and it can come and go. Like Kate said, it's probably fine, but if you're really worried it's best to call you OB to set your mind at ease.

Katie: my appointment went good. They ended up not doing an ultrasound. I have to wait until tomorrow for that So was bummed, but its almost here. Did not get any good news about the finance part of it. But I may qualify for the assistant program through the state I have the meeting with them Wednesday. Afm: was out of town this weekend. Had really early mornings and long days. So today I'm just exhausted and taking it easy. Haley

Thanks ladies! That is one of the hardest parts about being pregnant, the not knowing. It's very stressful! I just sometimes wish I could have an ultrasound everyday to make sure Lil nugget is doing just fine! How do you guys deal with getting through the first twelve weeks? I know youre not totally out of the clear at twelve weeks, but the risk is minimal.

You will shortly start feeling the baby and that will start bringing you comfort and a whole new set of worries. But the worrying over your child has just begun it will continue for the rest of our lives. Try to stay positive and not stress yourself out. All the worrying is normal and were all doing it. Talk to us, talk to friends we will make it until jul/aug. Haley

Little late to the game here, but...lol, hey, we do what we can, right? I found out I was pregnant in early November, after over a year of trying. We actually went to go see a fertility specialist two weeks before we found out, we were going to start treatments. Little did we know! We were ecstatic, I couldn't even wait to tell people, even though we were supposed to wait til 10-12 weeks. I had my first ultrasound Dec 10, saw the baby and the heartbeat, measuring steady at 155bpm. A few days after, I got a call from the office saying that they had been observing the measurements of the fold on the back of the baby's neck, and while it could have just been positioning, and it was a little early to tell, they wanted me to come in for a nuchal translucency screening, to get a better measurement and take a blood stick to test for an increased risk of Downs and other chromosomal abnormalities. I went in for that on 12/29, and based on the ultrasound, they say it looks fine, now we're just waiting on the blood results. I haven't had morning sickness, persay, but I was queasy as all get out for weeks - to the point where I just wished I would throw up already. Other than that, things have been pretty normal!

Anyone have any suggestions with sleeping issues? I am exhausted when I get home from work, eat dinner, do house chores, etc. but when it comes to actually sleeping, I can't seem to get a good nights sleep!
