Hey everyone! I am due on 6/26 with my 4th child, another girl (already have 2 girls and 1 boy)! my 3rd child was born with 3 heart defects. I'm terrified that this baby will be born with one also. So just wondering if there is anyone in this group who has had or knows someone that has had another child that was born completely healthy or with the same defects? I am thankful that my drs are being proactive and I am going for a special sonogram with a cardiologist to have this babies heart looked at but it is still a few weeks away and am trying to get a little peace of mind. I can't seem to get to happy with this pregnancy yet because of my fears. It was exciting finding out the gender and feeling the movements but theres something there clouding over the joys. Thanks!

I totally understand your concerns. My daughter was born with quite a few health issues including a heart defect. She was my last child so I don't know if a third child would have had issues as well. My doctors felt like future children would not have issues but there was no guarantee. My son was my first and he was perfectly healthy so I'm not sure why my daughter has the health issues she has. I guess it just all depends on the genes that come through and how their growth is in the womb. Congrats on expecting a baby girl! Just know it's out of your control and whatever happens, you will deal with it just like you did with baby number 3. :) HUGS!

Thank you ParentsChristine! My dr told me theres a 4-8% chance this baby would have the same heart defect and an higher percentage the baby would have a 1 of the heart defects baby #3 had. We will see what happens!
