Well now that I am 33 weeks things are getting pretty tight in there. After a pretty awesome pregnancy to start, I found out at 26 weeks that I have gallstones. For those of you who don't know, this is prolly the worst pain I have ever felt (keep in mind I am a first time momma). So with all this comes an extreme lowfat diet, but apparently my gallbladder doesn't even approve of that. I have been stuck eat baked potatoes, rice and mac n cheese for weeks now (which coming from a meat eating farm family is killing me). So now that I have come to grips with all of this I have been hit with a new hurdle. Last week I went into the hospital with abdominal cramps (thank god no preterm labor) but come to find out...my blood pressure was sky-rocket!!! My doctor has said that we will be keeping an eye on it, but I am just really concerned what this could mean. Does this mean I am a higher risk for preeclampsia? I already feel horrible that my baby girl isn't getting all the nutrition she needs...now this...this momma needs a break!!!

Hi There,

I'm not sure where to start, how about congratulations first of all :) First time mommy is so exciting!

I had gallbladder problems while I was pregnant with my first. I ended up in the hospital for a week because the baby was too big for them to operate on the gallbladder. We got it under control and after baby was born I was able to control it with diet. The cool part is I lost all my baby weight and then some very fast :)

I became pregnant with my second and had problems again, this time around 4 months along. It was so bad that they ended up taking it out while I was pregnant. It's a good thing they did because I was told that it was actually deformed and not attached correctly.

I will tell you that childbirth does not hurt as bad as gallbladder problems. I had no pain meds for childbirth either:) Just remember that when it's time to have that baby, you can do it :)

I don't know what to tell you about the blood pressure, I have always had normal to low. I would talk to your doctor and let him know how worried you are about everything and ask what you can do to make sure you and baby remain healthy.

Look up what you should eat while having gallbladder problems, there should be some good information out there. I know that had I eaten mac and cheese, I would end up in the er:(

Take good care of yourself and keep us posted.

Tammy,

Thanks so much for all the encouragement! It has been hard. And it actually makes me a little relieved that labor pain won't be as bad as these attacks (as long as the attacks stay away while I'm in labor lol). There is already talk about me having it removed after the baby is here. I plan on having more kids and DO NOT want to go thru this again lol! It really does help to hear other peoples opinions and experiences...sometimes I feel like I am the only one in the world who knows how painful it is.

Thanks,

Caitlin
