Is Your Baby On Track?

That first big belly laugh, rolling over, eating solids—babies go through amazing changes in their first fab year. What was your biggest developmental joy...or worry?

Seriously it does not get better than that first laugh. Everything else is fun but man that is the most precious sound ever. My daughter has been belly laughing for a month and a half and I still get excited everytime she does it. Which is almost constantly now. But for me a close second is that we just started solids and she loves them. She gets so excited to eat and is now grabbing the spoon and feeding herself and then handing it back to me for now. But its like a fun game and it is now one of my favorite past times.

I try really hard not to worry about development things. Because then I start to worry non stop about every little thing. But luckily we haven't had to worry about anything yet.

Seth is doing everything so much earlier than Ian and Ashlee did.  He's 7 mo. on Sun, and he's been crawling for a month already.  It kinda scared me at first, but he just goes and goes.  He's pulling up on the couch already as well.  That really is freaking me out.  He's still so little, but so big.  He's almost 25 lbs. already, and can wear his 3 yo brothers shirts!  It's cute.  He talks a lot, and laughs and smiles, too.  Mama, bubba, and dada are his words, and he loves to rock to music and "sing" when it's on.  I call it scream-o!  He's so adventurous.  He just loves to explore the whole house, and I have to keep the gates up so he can't get into the bathroom.  He is the most active child I've ever had.  Happy and content.  I couldn't ask for more!

My son is absolutely ridiculous. I worry about keeping up with him. He was rolling over at a week, crawling by 4 months, walking at 7, climbing at 8, and has been talking forever. I don't know what to do, especially because he and his brother will be 12 1/2 months apart (due in October), I worry about being able to keep my eyes on both boys. But I love him so much! :D

Kaitlin, My daughter Lorelai sounds just like your son almost exact dates. I'm glad to know someone else in the same boat. My daughter is now 3! I think she is smarter than I am and she has wayyy more energy than I do! I can not believe how fearless she is, it's scarry. I mean she has always done everything early. She started wanting to go to the potty at around 10 mo., so we let her practice and before she was a year and a half we were out of diapers for good. She acts and speaks like a little adult. People never believe she is only three and a pretty new three at that, her birthday was July 24th. She is even as tall as a 4 year old. She likes to send the faxes at my families company and greats the customers. No worries here LOL! Kaitlin all I can say is maybe they'll keep each other occupied and they will be really close. Good Luck.

My little one performed her first sign (milk - leche!!!) during month 10. It was so exciting that we threw a spontaneous dance party in the house - just the two of us :-)

Baby E smiles.  Not as much as Giggles did, but Baby E is only three months and Giggles was with us from four through eight months.  Baby E is also laughing without being tickled.  Awesome!  I got out the exersaucer and put her in it today.  She doesn't know what to think, but she's still a little young for it.  Jessie had fun playing with both.  =)

Oh!  Jessie.  Here's a proud mama moment.  Jessie has been delayed in so many areas.  We got her five days before she was 10 months.  She started crawling within two weeks of being in our house.  She was walking at late 16/ early 17 months.  She had her tonsils and adenoids out June 2010 to help with her speech delays.  We'll find out on Wednesday if she qualifies for the program at the school since she loses ECI when she turns three.  Our second evaluation was last week and the therapists were so impressed with her physicality and dexterity.  Yay!  I am hoping she qualifies for speech, though.  =)
