So I just got off the phone with my insurance company, blue cross, and I'm having a nervous breakdown right now. My plan is terrible! I have to reach a $1250 deductable, and in order to get there I have to pay $900 in dr bills and blood work, then I will only have to pay co pays. BUT the plan renews in September, so we will have to pay $1250 again which sucks since obviosuly I'll be delivering in October! My company was talking about picking up independant health, but they have no idea when that will be happening. I'm terrified right now, we can't afford this!

Aww Jenn, Im sorry to hear about your problem..I dont know really what you can do..Have you tried to apply for state insurance..I live in Pa and even though my husband had insurance, I was able to get state insurance as my secondary because I was pregnant and had diabetes and his insurance had co pays and outrageous pharmacy benefits..Its worth a try..I heard that if you are pregnant, they find away to get you state insurance especially if its a secondary...

I have BCBS of Iowa because that is where my husband is based. They pay for one ultrasound- which would be fine, it I didn't have to three others when they were trying to figure out my due date in the beginning. Fortunately, the only charge the $20 copay for the others. I had to pay my copay at my first visit, but the for the doctor's bill for delivery, I have to meet my $2,000 family deductible (of which we have met none this year because we never go to the doctor), then it pays 80%- which leaves me paying over $1,200 which has to be paid before I deliver (amount is estimated by the doctor's office assuming no complications). At least my doctor lets me pay each month. I can't wait until I get the hospital's bill. All my bloodwork they pay 80%, so I've spent about $200 on all my blood work so far. I also get to pay another $3.00 each time I have to pee in the cup my doctor's visits because they bill that as lab work as well......the joys of insurance........

omg I don't even want to talk about it. we are on the same page as Shawna. we have to hit 4500 once is all said and done. Though I'm already at like 2500, so I'm more than 1/2 way there.
