I'm not a fan of co sleeping, but I know lots of moms who do it. We have a pack and play that we are putting next to the bed, about two feet away on the other side of the night table, but that's only for the first month (recovery) like we did with Will. Will was sleeping in own room by two weeks.

I have an arm's reach mini co-sleeper that I used with my first, my sister used it and I am using it again. It is awesome to have the baby right next to you, but not IN bed with you. They are more expensive. You can probably buy one used, like on craigslist. Then sell it again when you are finished. They fold up nice to stow. They come with risers to adjust to any bed height. I used it for 3.5 months, until he was sleeping mostly through the night.
