Hello 10/10 mommies! My son is 6 months old and I have a wonderful at home daycare provider, but she closes at 5pm. I work at a movie theater as a manager in Florida and I leave each day at 4:30 to pick up my son. I have to take Saturday off and my husband takes Sunday off because the daycare is closed. I work Sunday while my husband has him. My boss keeps telling me I need to find someone to take care of my LO on Friday nights (my husband doesn't get off until 8pm & he is hourly so he can't cut his hours). I keep telling him that I don't have any family here & by the time I would get to work we would be closed if I left when my husband get home. We can't afford to pay any extra for daycare even if its one day. I can't afford to quit my job (I'm the main provider) and my husband can't quit until he finds another job. We live in a pretty small area and can't find any jobs that pay us the same amount or more. I'm really stressed out and can't afford to lose my job, but I need advice to make my boss understand my situation. The other managers don't mind working nights (one is in school and prefers it) and the other one has her MIL watch her 2 year old so she can work anytime. I get my duties done on time, and I've rarely called out, but I'm on the verge of having a nervous breakdown because everytime I see my boss he says to me that he's going to hear it from the other managers because I get to have nights off. I've even tried getting my hours by coming in early & he told me I don't have to come in so early. Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I need help to get my boss to understand because I'm very unhappy right now & it stresses me out. Thanks for listening........

Wow , this sounds all to familiar. Just went through a similar situation. Only difference my daycare was actually shut down. I found a new daycare and it also was under investigation. My bosses always had a comment as to when I was going to "take care" of it. So I am in the process of becoming a in-home childcare provider :) Just a thought.
