When I had my 2nd baby the 1st brought something for his baby and baby had a gift for his big brother. At the time I felt it helped ease any jealousy, and we honestly had no problems at all and now I'm looking at cost and if we do a gift what to do for Christmas. Don't get me wrong I'm talking $10-$20 token keep sibling busy at the hospital type things but still, I'm expecting #3 right before Christmas, are baby/sibling gifts a do or don't?

I think they're definitely a do! It could also be a momento for later in life, which could be a great keepsake.

i think that it's a do as well. I did the same for my child and i plan on doing it again for my third. I think that pregnancy can be an anxious time for children, especially the yougest, when they r used to getting all of mommy's attention and then suddenly you can't pick them up the way u used to or anything. Giving them a gift may ease their mind about the new baby ''taking over mommy''

I think they are a "do". My newborn daughter got my 4 year old son a power ranger set he had been wanting. He loved her for it right off the bat and still remembers 3 years later where it came from. My son got my daughter a cute taggie stuffed giraffe that she still sleeps with and she's 3. :)

We have bought a mini table and chair set for my son to give him when we bring the baby home, but honestly, I figured it would be from us, and not the new baby. I thought of it as it will just be something new for him while the new baby will seem to be getting new stuff, etc. I may go buy a small something from the baby though to give him in the hospital. I like that idea.
