What television shows is your school-age child watching? What shows have gotten the stamp of approval from both you and your child?

My daughter (7) likes watching Kids Bop music videos OnDemand. My son (9) watches Pokemon and Ben 10. I'd say giving these my stamp of approval would definitely be overstating it LOL. We watch America's Funniest Home Videos together as well as lots of animal and planet shows.

My son (5) is kind of between the Noggin stage and the Nick/Boomerang stage. He is outgrowing one, but I'm not quite ready to let him completely go to the other channels. One thing we watch a lot of is the Food Network. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about the types of commericals he might see when we are watching TV in the evening...no R-rated movie previews or Viagra or Cialis commericals to worry about there! We all (dh, ds, and I) love to watch shows like Unwrapped, Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Chopped, Diners-Drive-ins and Dives, etc. He's learned a lot and he has always liked to help in the kitchen, so it gives us something to watch together. As for kid's shows, we all really like The Backyardigans.

My 9 year old watches alot of Phineas and Ferb on Disney. It's actually not a bad show. There is catchy music in every episode and the pet/secret agent platypus is entertaining. I don't mind watching that with him at all.
