Oliver will not nap unless somebody holds him. It's driving me nuts. I love snuggling with him but there are times I have to get things done around the house. I've tried swaddling, unswaddled, hold him for a bit before putting him down, putting him down immediately, swing, bouncy seat, front carrier....NOTHING works. He immediately wakes up and cries until he gets back to sleep. Also, the only way to get him to sleep...walk around. If we sit down or rock him he cries and cries. As soon as we stand up he immediatley stops crying and goes right to sleep. The strange thing is that he sleeps by himself all night in his bassinet. Does anybody have any other suggestions? I REALLY hope this stage passes soon. It's so hard with our 2 year old. I love spending time with him but holding him all day is just not a realistic option.

Do you have a Moby or any other kind of carrier? Some days that's the only way I get stuff done and T gets a nap.

My babyboy is the same way! Needless to say, I havent found anything that works so I just lay with him, however like you said I have things to do. Usually I wait until he is sleeping at night to get things done becuae he sleeps really well. But I cant do this forever lol. I plan on getting a moby, I hear they work wonders :) Good luck!

I dont usually have a problem with my son sleeping during the day but if I do, I run the vacuum and he falls asleep instantly wherever he is. I vacuumed my house almost everyday when I was pregnant so that is probably why it is so soothing! Also I think the loud humming noise pacifies them, it doubles as getting some housework done, if you have carpets! Good luck...

Going along with what PP said...have you tried a sound machine? We use one for my oldest and have started using one for Colt as well. Colt doesn't sleep well in quiet. I either leave the TV on or turn on his sound machine.

Thanks Dan! He seems to have grown out of wanting to be held. He does need to be swaddled and put in his swing or bouncy seat but it's working for now. We do have a projection night light...I might try that when we start trying to get him to put himself to sleep in another couple of months. Thanks again!
