I was wondering how many of you have switched car seats to the ones that stay in the car? I think we are really close to doing it because with Isabella and the car seat it feels like we're lugging 50lbs around.

We haven't yet. Is there a weight (besides when your arm breaks lol) when we should? Benjamin only weighs 15lbs but he does seem to weigh a ton in that seat.

I dont really know, I just know that the car seats that stay in the car hold like 5-50lbs(depending on make, etc) I think maybe my carseat we have now is just super heavy and then adding all 19lbs of Isabella.

No yet, but we're considering it. Tristin is only around 14 - 15 pounds so he's just starting to get heavy in the seat. It probably helps that I'm forced to use the stroller a lot so I don't notice the carseat weighing alot. I've been looking at them and think I know which one we're going with, but not positive.

I don't even want to think about having to buy the bigger car seat. They cost a small fortune, and we would probably end up getting one for each car. :-(

I think we are going to go with an Eddie Bauer one from Target, its $119 but my first stayed in that carseat until she was 5 because she didnt hardly weigh anything, only weighes 30lbs so it was worth every penny. The one I found was much more padded than the others. Christine- I agree they are pretty pricey...especially if you have to buy two!

We will probably do it sometime soon. With my 1st we switched him at about 8 months. The limit on your carseat is usually about 28 pounds, but could you really imagine lugging THAT around? HA! I personally have a snugride 32, which can hold up to 32 pounds, but still, we won't be waiting that long...goodness...my 2 year old is right at 30. HA! We went with the Britax Marathon for my first. I can't decide if I want to get something else for him and give my youngest the marathon, or just get another marathon. I LOVE the seat, so we'll see.
