Renee's reply to a post that she found out she was expecting in Paris was so neat that I thought I would ask how other's found out about being pregnant. Were you ttc or was it a wonderful surprise? Did you take a test while your significant other waited with you, were you testing before you even missed your period or were you shocked to find out? With my 1st, he was a wonderful surprise and I told my dh right away. With my daughter, we were ttc and got pg immediately which was a shock. I really expected it to take longer. With both, I told my dh right away and not in a really unique way. How did you find out?

I found out two days before Christmas (was due on Christmas for AF). I brought up a bag with my 2 year old son's Christmas outfit in it as well as the test. I told my husband I wanted to show him what I got my son for Christmas...showed him the clothes first, then pulled out the test...he was very excited.

Thanks Christine! What prompted me to take the test while in Paris was Gluvein. If you aren’t familiar with Gluvein it’s a spiced wine that is served hot during the holiday season throughout parts of Europe. It’s very similar to Wassail only instead of using orange juice red wine is used. There were Christmas markets all over Paris that were serving it and I really wanted to have some but I obviously didn’t want to drink alcohol if I was pregnant so that is why I took the pregnancy test. I am sure glad that I did and I don’t regret one bit not being able to drink any Gluvein this trip to France. =)

I was waiting for my period to show up at christmas. She never did show. I was charting and I used a sperm donor so I will be a single mom. When I was 19dpo I decided to test. I thought it would be negative and it was a blaring positive! Its a wonderful surprise that I didn't expect to happen!

A big fat positive on a pregnancy test is a pretty amazing Christmas gift. =)
