LOL...ok surely I'm not the only one. Let me clarify...my kids don't eat off the floor...anymore haha. I remember when I was pg with my 1st, I made sure my floors were spotless but would still freak out if my son dropped a cheerio and picked it up to eat it. With my 2nd I was much more relaxed lol. I look back now and I'm thinking...I wonder how many times she ate snacks off the floor behind my back and I never knew and then there are all the times that I caught her. I spilled some cheerios yesterday on the floor and it made me think that if my daughter had still been a toddler when I had done that she would have immediately turned into a vacuum. Ok ok, she did attempt to grab them off the floor this time too...

Great topic, something to think about. I remember being the same way when the first was born, second one....a little more relaxed and third, well, I think I have seen her grab something out of the garbage can:) My favorite is when they spill a drink and try to slurp it off the table, at least it's cleaner than the floor :) Tammy

Haha, I knew I wasn't alone! I got such a visual when you said they slurp off the table when they make a spill!

Mine too!
My baby dumps her bowls over on purpose, then lays down on her belly to eat the cereal without her hands! She looks like a sucker fish on the side of a fish tank.
I try not to encourage the habit, but I don't freak out about either. I was pretty relaxed about it even with my first one, probably because I have several nieces and nephews, and I've been baby sitting since I was about 12. I've seen kids eat just about everything!
